Soar on Us! Tipton Hyundai Sponsors Free Zipline Tickets

at Gladys Porter Zoo

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (August 8, 2025) — The Gladys Porter Zoo, in partnership with Tipton Hyundai, is thrilled to announce a special two-week ticket giveaway for the new Soaring Eagle Zipline, a landmark attraction that offers unparalleled aerial views of the Zoo and surrounding landscape.

Starting Monday, August 11, and running through Friday, August 22, the first 200 visitors each weekday who say "I want to soar with Tipton Hyundai" at the admission gate or membership office will receive a free zipline ticket. The giveaway is valid on weekdays only: August 11-15 and August 18-22.

Dr. Patrick M. Burchfield, the Zoo’s director, expressed gratitude for the generous donation from Tipton Hyundai. "The Tipton family has been a cherished partner of the Gladys Porter Zoo for many years, consistently demonstrating a profound commitment to our community and a shared passion for our mission," he stated. "Their support has been instrumental in our growth, and this initiative is yet another testament to their dedication to creating memorable experiences for the families we serve."

Opened on July 9, the Soaring Eagle Zipline is a dual-rider attraction that takes guests on an exhilarating journey over 120 feet in the air. Riders can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views stretching from the Zoo grounds to the Rio Grande River and into neighboring Mexico. As the first project in Phase I of the Zoo’s 10-year Master Plan, the zipline is designed to enhance the visitor experience and boost tourism in the region.

Promotion Details

• What: Free Soaring Eagle Zipline tickets for the first 200 visitors each weekday.
• When: Monday, August 11 – Friday, August 15 and Monday, August 18 – Friday, August 22.
• How: Be one of the first 200 people to say "I want to soar with Tipton Hyundai" at the admission gate or membership office and meet ride requirements for height and weight.
• Note: Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis and are only redeemable on the day they are issued. Riders must be present at ticket gate or membership office to receive a complimentary ticket. Tickets are issued in conjunction with paid Zoo admission purchase at ticket gate or membership office.
